Terms of business

The agreement between you and QuantivoFx covering your trading account, the orders you place, margin, charges and how complaints are handled.

Placeholder document — this must be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before publication.

1. Scope and parties

These terms are the agreement between you and QuantivoFx, the trading platform operated by Quantivo Ltd (company registration number 55624915), whose registered office is at 220-224 Tottenham Ct Rd, London W1T 7PZ, United Kingdom. By opening an account you accept these terms, the Risk Disclosure, the Privacy Policy and the AML Policy.

Quantivo Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 55624915, registered office 220-224 Tottenham Ct Rd, London W1T 7PZ, United Kingdom. No financial services authorisation is held or claimed, and company registration is not a permission to carry on regulated business.

Nothing in these terms reduces any protection that the mandatory law of the country where you live gives you.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old, legally capable of entering into a contract, and applying in your own name. You agree to give us accurate information, to keep it up to date, and to complete identity verification when we ask for it. We may ask you to verify your identity before a particular action, such as a withdrawal. We may decline or close an account where verification fails, where we cannot lawfully serve you, or where we reasonably suspect misuse.

  • You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything done through your account.
  • We email you a link to confirm your email address. You cannot sign in until you use it.
  • You must not let anyone else trade your account.
  • We may suspend an account to comply with the law, a court order, or an instruction from a public authority.

3. The service we provide

QuantivoFx is a platform for trading contracts for difference (CFDs). A CFD is an agreement to exchange the difference in the value of an underlying market between the time you open a position and the time you close it. You place your own trades through the web terminal. We do not trade on your behalf.

We do not provide investment advice, portfolio management, personal recommendations or trading signals. Nothing on our website or in our marketing is advice.

You are responsible for your own trading decisions, including which instrument you trade, the size of your position, the leverage you choose, and whether to add a stop loss or a take profit.

4. Orders and execution

You place orders yourself in the platform. Before you submit an order, the order ticket shows the margin it will use (the money set aside from your balance to hold the position open) and the risk it carries.

  • A market order is filled at the next available price, which may differ from the price you saw when you submitted it. Prices can move quickly around news and at the open of a market.
  • If you add a stop loss, it is triggered when your chosen price is reached. It does not promise you that price, because a market can jump past your level.
  • A limit order is filled at your price or better, but it is not guaranteed to be filled.
  • We may reject or cancel an order where there is not enough margin, where a market is closed or suspended, where a price is clearly wrong, or where accepting it would break the law.

5. Margin, leverage and close-out

Margin is the money set aside from your balance to hold a position open. The platform shows the margin an order needs before you submit it.

Leverage lets you open a position larger than the money you set aside. Each account type has its own leverage cap, shown on the account types page and inside the platform. Leverage increases your gains and your losses in the same way.

If the money in your account falls too low to support your open positions, we may close positions for you to stop the loss growing. The platform shows the level at which this happens. You remain responsible for watching your account and for any loss that results from a close-out.

What happens if your balance falls below zero depends on the arrangements that apply to your account. We will set out the position here once it is finalised.

6. Costs, charges and interest

What a trade costs depends on your account type. The Standard account has no separate commission: the cost sits in the price you are quoted. The Raw account quotes a tighter price and charges a small, separate commission on each trade. Both are set out on the pricing page and inside the platform.

A position held past the daily rollover may also be charged overnight financing. Each account type has its own leverage cap and minimum deposit, shown on the account types page and inside the platform. If you change your reporting currency, the label on your balance changes, but no conversion is applied to its value.

We may change our charges. Where we do, we will tell you before the change takes effect, and the change will not apply to positions you have already opened.

7. Funds held on your behalf

Amounts you deposit are credited to your account and recorded in the wallet alongside your balances, positions and transaction history. Every deposit and withdrawal is reviewed before funds are credited or released, so a request is not reflected in the balance or the history until that review is complete.

You may withdraw available funds provided the margin requirement of any open position continues to be met. Verification of identity and of the payment method may be required before a withdrawal is released.

The arrangements under which funds are held, and any protections attaching to them, depend on the entity that holds your account. Those arrangements are not yet finalised and will be published here.

8. Intellectual property

The platform, our website, our documentation and the tools we provide belong to us or to our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the platform for your own trading. You must not copy, resell, sublicense or try to build a competing service from it.

Market data shown in the platform comes from third parties and may be subject to their terms. You must not redistribute it for commercial purposes or use it to build a derived product without our written consent.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for fraud, for wilful misconduct, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that come from market movements, from your own trading decisions, from your failure to keep enough margin in your account, from your internet connection or device, or from events outside our reasonable control.

Where we are liable to you for breaking these terms, our total liability is limited to the greater of the charges you paid us in the three months before the event or the value of the affected trade. We are not liable for indirect losses, including lost profits or lost opportunity.

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time by giving us written notice, once all positions are closed and everything owed has been settled. We may close or suspend your account where the law requires it, where we reasonably suspect fraud, money laundering or market abuse, where you break these terms, or where we decide to stop offering the service in your country. Where we close your account for our own reasons, we will give you reasonable notice.

On termination we will close any open positions, settle the balance and return available funds to you. We keep records for as long as the law requires.

11. Complaints and dispute resolution

If you are unhappy with anything, write to our compliance team at legal@quantivofx.com with your account email address and a description of what happened. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and give you a full response within eight weeks, or sooner where the matter is straightforward. The Complaints Policy explains each stage.

If you remain dissatisfied, you may be able to refer the matter to a dispute-resolution scheme or a public authority in the country where you live. Which scheme applies to you depends on the entity that holds your account, and we will publish those details here once they are finalised.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

Where you live in another country, you may benefit from protections under its law that cannot be waived, and you may be able to bring proceedings there.

We may amend these terms by giving you at least 30 days’ notice. If you object to a change, you may close your account before it takes effect. Continuing to use your account after that date means you accept the change.
